Red Letter Day!our young hens deliver the first eggAugust 7: Ever since our chicks arrived last March, we've been looking forward to the day when they would produce their first egg--well, we're delighted to report that "First Egg Day" has arrived!
Admittedly, it's a rather small egg, but that's to be expected since the hen that laid it is only five months old. As the hens get up to their full size, the size of the eggs will increase accordingly, but for starters, this one is just fine. |
