Windward
is recognized as a
special interest group (SIG) by
American Mensa, Ltd.
Many of Windward's founders were or are active in Mensa, and one reason Windward exists is
to provide transitional support for members of the "gifted" community. Participation is not limited to those who have been recognized as "gifted;" rather it is our desire to foster the intellectual, creative and spiritual "gifts" within us all.
Most of Windward's activities are held on its 131 acre site in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge area located in the Pacific Northwest. SIG members are welcome to make arrangements to visit, and extended on-site stays can be arranged. Interested folk are invited to contact us at The Windward SIG
For years, Windward's journal Notes from Windward has kept SIG members up to date with what's going on. With the development of the Web, Windward has shifted over to a virtual newsletter. While issues of Notes from Windward are now organized on an annual basis, articles and color pictures are added to the website edition through out the year. It's our hope that this new format will enable more people to learn about what we're doing, and to follow along as our adventure unfolds.

Mensa is an international society in which the sole requirement for membership is a
score at or above the 98th percentile on any standard IQ test. To
qualify, you may take a Mensa proctored test, or show evidence of prior
testing.
Mensa is a non-profit corporation whose only purpose is to serve as a
means of communication and assembly for its members. Mensa itself holds no
opinions, champions no causes, and is not affiliated in any way with any
other organization including Windward.
