We were able to get a really good printing deal on our 2007 Internship brochure; by ordering on-line, we were able to get a thousand printed for what two hundred would have cost locally. Now that 2007 is past, it's hard to justify tossing out the remaining brochures and printing up another batch, and so the plan is to continue using the ones we have until they're gone since most of the information remains relatively current.
The primary projects for 2008 are the continued development of our solar-steam-powered, grid-tied electrical generation system, starting the construction of our flagship aquaponics system featuring a solar-powered 24'x8'x8' walk-in freezer and 3,000 gallons of fish/algae tanks, the construction of an octagonal intern yurt, and the exploration of consensus based community from the perspective of love-based living--as opposed to the fear-based living fostered by the corporate/consumer economy.
In addition, interns will work on a personal project that addresses their specific interests and skill set.
